UNDERSTANDING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
SUMMARY
As workers and agencies we engage in initiatives and interventions through which we seek to enable and support local people to choose to participate in community development and neighbourhood action. Successful outputs and outcomes in our work should be largely evidenced in the participation, learning and actions of those we work with.
In this category of resources ‘Understanding Community Development’ (05), we seek to explore and review our community development and neighbourhood action practice, and how this works effectively with local people and other stakeholders. We look at the ideas; the practical approaches, benefits and impact, and how those we work with can participate and learn successfully from their experiences with us.
