UNDERSTANDING LEARNING
SUMMARY
Learning is a natural and universal human process and all individuals learn from their experiences in life. We need to understand what happens when someone learns something. In particular we should be interested in why and how learning has a crucial role within initiatives and interventions, which seek to encourage people to change their behaviour.
The ‘ Understanding Learning’ (02) category of resources explores the nature of learning in neighbourhood and community work settings, in relation to a variety of work arenas. Learning is presented as the core process by which people engage and participate in capacity building, community development and neighbourhood regeneration. Within this resource category we also explore the practice of engaging people in community learning activities.
